Job description
Purpose of the Role

The Manager Product experts group will lead and develop FLSs Product Experts (PE) group the mechanical technical backbone of the aftermarket (spares and modernization) portfolio. This role manages a diverse highly skilled team of approximately 20 engineers and technical specialists spread across APAC and EMEA who support pre‑sales activities project execution spare parts quality modernization upgrades and product improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will drive strategic alignment between the PE group product specialists sales and sales support functions ensuring strong service levels operational effectiveness and continuous improvement to support FLSmidth’s aftermarket growth ambitions and customer satisfaction. The role includes actively developing team capability supporting regional locations as required and maintaining effective communication with all internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely high-quality engineering and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive excellence in spare parts technical management, machine upgrade design, drafting and documentation standards.
  • Lead product improvement initiatives and strengthen customer satisfaction through technical capability & expertise responsiveness and quality.
  • Working with other leaders in the SP&M group develop and strategic initiatives that will improve the market position of FLS aftermarket offerings.
  • Integrate the team effectively within the organisation and ensure correct resourcing capability growth and compliance with standards.
  • Provide direct engineering input when required.
  • Prepare, monitor and manage budgets.
  • Lead performance management development coaching and succession planning.
  • Maintain technical standards design quality governance accurate records and outsourced engineering oversight.

  • Demonstrated leadership and people‑management capability including coaching, delegation, and accountability.
  • Strong ability to prioritise, analyse problems and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant engineering degree with a minimum of eight years experience in mechanical or technical management roles preferably within mining or mineral processing.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, aftermarket support or product improvement programs across regions and time zones.
  • Ability to build relationships, manage risk, work through ambiguity and drive business improvement.
