Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to lead continuous improvement and ensure world-class quality in automotive production.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with established quality systems and standards.
- Analyse process and quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications and expectations.
- Support production teams with technical expertise to resolve process-related challenges.
- Maintain and improve documentation in line with quality and operational requirements.
Key Competencies and Skills
- In-depth understanding of quality systems and concepts
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and automotive product standards
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Familiarity with work measurement techniques
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective planning and organisational ability
- Ability to manage customer relationships professionally
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office and relevant engineering software)
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- National Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (NQF Level 6)
- Certificate in Total Quality Management (TQM)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ quality experience in the automotive industry
- Minimum 5 years’ manufacturing experience in the automotive sector
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with SPC/FMEA methodologies
- Toolmaking experience will be advantageous
