About the Role

2 Hour Learning seeks a deeply technical product leader to drive the architectural modernization of its AI-powered learning ecosystem.

This executive-level role combines the technical discipline of a CTO, the strategic vision of a transformational leader, and the passion to unlock student potential at scale.

You will own the architecture, technical direction, and AI integration across the entire platform, making critical trade-offs to keep products lean, scalable, and student-outcome oriented.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain deep expertise in education products to inform strategic decisions.

Create technical specifications that resolve critical technical choices and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainability.

Deploy generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering workflows, minimizing manual effort.

Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, controlling core competencies and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership.

What You Won't Be Doing

Exclusively managing people; this role depends on business insight and technical judgment.

Spending time on meetings, committees, or administrative overhead; managerial burdens are automated.

Proposing abstract strategies without actionable implementation details; guidance must be grounded in product-level analysis.

Qualifications

Deep experience or interest in data-driven learning science.

7+ years of experience making important architecture and design decisions on software projects, including application of architecture design patterns or significant open-source technologies.

2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS).

4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product.

Experience building product features that make advanced use of generative AI.

Experience using generative AI to simplify work processes.
