Job description

An established renewable energy and engineering services organisation is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their high-performance technical team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong design, project execution and problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review and optimise electrical systems for commercial and industrial projects.
• Deliver technical support during project planning, installation and commissioning.
• Conduct site assessments, energy analyses and system performance evaluations.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications and compliance documentation.
• Ensure that all designs and project work adhere to relevant electrical standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Technicians and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical input for feasibility studies and proposals.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng Electrical Engineering (essential).
• 5 years’ experience in electrical system design, renewable energy, EPC or related environments.
• Strong understanding of SANS electrical standards, grid-tie requirements and electrical safety regulations.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst, ETAP or similar).
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in solar PV, energy efficiency or embedded generation projects.
• Professional Registration (ECSA) or working towards registration.
