Introduction
We're looking for a dynamic and strategic PR Manager to join our growing Marketing team at vivo South Africa.
This role is perfect for a creative communicator who thrives on building strong media relationships, crafting impactful stories, and driving brand visibility across multiple channels.
You’ll play a key role in positioning vivo as a leading technology brand within the South African market, working closely with both our local and regional teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement proactive and reactive PR strategies that strengthen vivo's brand presence and reputation in South Africa.
- Act as the primary liaison between the vivo SA Marketing team and the regional Marketing team to align and execute PR initiatives.
- Lead the creation and execution of seasonal PR campaigns that secure national media coverage and highlight key brand messages and HERO products.
- Craft engaging and locally relevant press releases that resonate with South African audiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and potential sponsorship partners.
- Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and engagement.
- Oversee full-funnel influencer campaigns — from development and negotiation to execution and performance tracking.
- Manage the brand's social content calendar, aligning cultural moments, product launches, and sales initiatives to amplify brand impact.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to refine and optimize PR strategies.
- Report on PR performance, including media coverage, share of voice, campaign results, and influencer deliverables.

Qualifications & Experience
- Honours / Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in PR Management, preferably within the Cellular Telecommunications industry
- Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communication strategies
- Strong media and influencer network within South Africa
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Creative, proactive, and highly organized — with a passion for storytelling and brand building
