Role Description This is a full-time on-site role based in Cape Town for a Switchgear Technician.

The Switchgear Technician will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, retrofitting, and testing switchgear and circuit breakers to meet manufacturer and safety standards.

Daily tasks will include conducting diagnostics, troubleshooting equipment, utilizing service manuals, and creating procedures for non-standard systems.

The role will also involve on-site activities, retrofitting solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Qualifications Technical expertise in switchgear servicing, troubleshooting, and circuit breaker maintenancepetence in retrofitting solutions and working with both low and medium voltage systems. Experience with diagnostic tools, testing procedures, and understanding of safety standards. Ability to read technical manuals and create service procedures when necessary. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality work. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in an on-site environment. Relevant technical certifications are highly advantageous but not mandatory. Familiarity with adaptation link designs and reducing operational downtime is a plus.
