We are seeking a sales-driven Portfolio Manager to drive business growth, maximize profitability, and strengthen client relationships.
Responsibilities include managing a pipeline of clients and deals, conducting financial assessments, structuring agreements, and ensuring successful transaction execution.

- Drive business growth, maximize profitability, and foster strong client relationships through effective new business development, rigorous financial analysis, and strategic cross‑selling efforts.
- Maintain a client-focused approach daily.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within specific sectors (Aviation, Agriculture, Transport, Technology, Renewable Energy, Yellow Metal, etc.).
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and deals.
- Analyze market trends to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and propose tailored financial solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals that meet both client requirements and company objectives.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Evaluate the financial viability of proposed deals and assess their potential impact on overall profitability.
- Ensure timely and efficient execution of new business transactions from initiation to closure.
- Develop strong relationships with existing clients to uncover additional business needs and promote products or services from within the Merchant West Group (Lending & Advisory products).
- Measure the quality of leads provided to other business units within the Merchant West Group, emphasizing quality over quantity.
Qualifications
- BCom degree with Finance and / or Mathematics, Accounting as subjects.
Experience
- 4+ years' experience in a sales position with a financial background or solution selling.
- Existing relationships and client / dealer base within the sector.
- Ability to understand and analyze financial statements.
- Familiarity with the National Credit Act.
Skills
- Interest and knowledge in the Technology sector and assets.
- Strong understanding of Technology markets, technologies, and regulatory environments.
- Driver's License (Code 08).
- Experience with Tailored Staff Financial Wellness Offerings.
- Select divisions in the MW Group are licensed and authorized FSPs.
