Qualifications

Job description
Portfolio Accountant
Primary Purpose of the Job

To generate superior returns for our shareholders by:

Providing stakeholders with relevant and timely information to facilitate appropriate decision making by maintaining valid, accurate and complete financial records and reporting accurate and complete management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.

In collaboration with the finance team and tax professionals, assist with tax related functions within the group.

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)
  • Maintain valid, accurate and complete trial balances for properties and portfolios.
  • Prepare and report timely, accurate and complete portfolio management accounts with variance commentary monthly.
  • Assist in decision making by providing relevant insights and analysis on performance trends.
  • Facilitate the timely, accurate and complete preparation and reporting of budgets and forecasts for both Income Statement and Balance Sheet for these properties and portfolios.
  • Assist management in tracking and driving results / yield improvement on property and portfolio level.
  • Assist with the take on of properties during the acquisition and development phases.
  • Reconcile and process the adjustment accounts on disposal of properties.
  • Review and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of month end VAT calculations and returns
  • Prepare the annual VAT apportionment calculation
  • Assist with tax administrative duties of the group
  • Assist in preparing information for Tax Professionals
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Facilitate special/adhoc projects to optimize and automate reporting.
  • Manage junior staff.
