Job summary

A leading equipment company based in South Africa seeks a Parts Supervisor to oversee sales and performance at multiple branches. You will manage parts staff, ensure customer service excellence, and maintain efficient inventory processes. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of supervisory experience in the aftermarket parts industry, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. This is a critical role that requires the ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to challenges.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication/negotiation skills are necessary.
  • Supervisory experience in a parts aftermarket environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of earthmoving products and Bell equipment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor sales and ensure targets are met across three branches.
  • Manage and train parts staff for optimal performance.
  • Liaise with customers and oversee inventory management.

Job description
DUTIES
  • Monitor actual sales to budgets and ensure set targets are met at Kimberley, Bloemfontein & Wolmarandstad
  • Manage sales and performance measurements of the parts staff at all 3 branches
  • Training of staff with recording of trainings conducted
  • Oversee and supervise a combination of parts staff (Sales, stores and admin)
  • Maintain parts systems, processes, accuracy and inventory
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to by yourself and the parts team
  • Have a critical impact on customer service excellence and enhance the customer’s perception of Bell Equipment ( internal and external )
  • Manage customer Quotations & Back orders daily to minimise losses & promote timeous deliveries.
  • Oversee account and cash sales for payment and order validity.
  • Control after hours standby duties & ensure high level of service to customers.
  • Manage Inventory in all 3 branched including regular cycle counts and stocktakes
  • Ensure proper parts coverage and strategic stock for all machines operating in the areas
  • Oversee stock returns process and controls
  • Be on standby 24/7 for support and related assistance
  • Liaise with customers at all levels within your area which include visits to their sites and offices.
  • Manage “all” parts related reports
  • Adhere to “all” company SHEQ and OHS requirements
  • Reports to Branch Manager and thereafter the National Parts Manager on related responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS
  • Matric and or Abet level 4
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a parts aftermarket environment is essential
  • Applicants must have strong communication/ negotiation skills
  • Must be motivated & resourceful
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be computer literate, Microsoft, Lotus Notes, Power Point, Report writing
  • Earthmoving product knowledge essential. Knowledge of Bell related would be an advantage
  • SAP knowledge / experience is essential
  • Valid code 8 or higher driver’s license
