Key Output
- Manage and maintain the parts contract aspect of the business by:
- Strengthen internal and external relationships between the customer and directly involved Barloworld Equipment employees by improving the understanding of pricing methodology.
- Advise all Sales employees that deal with parts sold to an identified EMP customer on the following basis:
- Quarterly - advising sales staff of price changes accepted by customer and implementation dates of these changes
- Daily - any parts price variance between a customer order number and our system price that needs investigation
Successfully reviewing and implementing quarterly price adjustments – CBI (Country business index) escalations, applications and price files.
Successful review, submission and refund of Quarterly cap claims.
Successful implementation of annual escalations of CBI factors in conjunction with the Financial Director.
- Effective management of internal policies including the business process ownership of Parts Contract Pricing, including migrating gross customers to Nett pricing.
- Effective facilitation of new ventures in terms of parts projects EMPs (the TOP 40 customers are classified as EMPs – Equipment Management Program) with menu-based pricing.
- Monthly KPI reporting on individual site performances to GM for Product Support.
- Maintain realistic parts margins by the quarterly preparation of price change proposals including calculations which impact:
- For future price changes calculate the impact of said price changes on customer pricing levels as well as company profit (GP%)
- Deal with all internal and external customer queries and problems.
Future price lists, future gross prices, future ZRED (Trade discount that is applied but does not reflect on quotes), future GP and GP% and future CLP factors.
Quarterly / annual reporting of actual GP % and CLP factors on all customers – across all territories.
Based on analysis, the Director can make changes to the final price change implementations.
At least 40% of their time is spent on:
- Written and verbal communication with customers regarding Parts price changes
- Attending customer meetings
- Resolving ad hoc queries
- Creating monthly spend reports for customers
- Assisting with customer expediting reports (customer orders not delivered / invoiced as yet)
- Communicating with customers regarding replacement and discontinued parts
- Supplying and updating customer contract price files
- Administration of Caterpillar Support and Caterpillar CAP Claim programmes with regards to submission of claims to Caterpillar and subsequent refund of these claims
- Accurately calculate and update relevant SAP conditions for EMP customers
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Required Qualification
- Tertiary qualification – preferably in financial or cost management accounting
- Code 8 Driver’s license
Minimum Required Experience
- Previous experience in managing/dealing in a financial and/or pricing operation.
- Duration of experience – five years
