About Wessels

The South Africa Manganese operation is in the manganese-rich Kalahari Basin, in the Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world’s manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine, which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position.

As an Operator Belt Attendant, you will be responsible for monitoring safety and cleaning conveyor systems. Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Transfer material by means of belt conveyors
• Attend to blockages and spillages
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area
• Responsible for safety and good housekeeping in the company filling system

About You

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a mining environment
• Qualifications: Grade 12 for external candidates or Grade 10 for internal candidates
• Competency A will be advantageous
• Valid driver’s license is essential
