Job Summary

The Oiler is responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of the ships machinery, engines, and associated equipment. This role ensures that all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with maritime regulations. The Oiler assists the engineering team in routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure the safety of the vessel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily checks and maintenance of engines, pumps, generators, and other machinery.

  • Lubricate machinery and equipment as per manufacturer and ship requirements.

  • Monitor engine performance and report any abnormalities to senior engineering staff.

  • Assist in machinery repairs, troubleshooting, and overhauls.

  • Maintain logs of machinery operation, maintenance, and repairs.

  • Keep engine rooms and technical areas clean, organized, and safe.

  • Follow all safety protocols, maritime regulations, and company procedures.

  • Support the engineering team during emergencies or drills.

Requirements
