Overview

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Millwright reporting to the RMI Maintenance Superintendent. The position will be based in Delmas-Mpumalanga.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To maintain modify and install all machinery and related equipment. To ensure peak performance of equipment in order to deliver good quality product at low cost.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality products
• Ensure availability of sorting equipment to produce good products
• Ensure cost effective maintenance of equipment through continuous improvement and maximised localisation of spares
• Assist stores Supervisor with ensuring availability of correct spares
• Safe execution of Maintenance work. Safe operation of equipment
• Do regular safety audits
• Immediately fix safety deviations
• Participate in all safety related activities
• Practice LOTO at all times
• Comply with all safety requirements
• Equipment Reliability improvement – execute route inspections and report deviations
• Good housekeeping at all times – ensure all relevant work areas and storage areas are always clean (5-Why)
• Implement Prometheus (where applicable)

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• N3
• Millwright with Trade Certificate
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a food processing plant
• Good working relationship (maintenance and operation) of sorting equipment
• Ability to give technical support (soft and hardware) to other employees
• Ability to assess and analyse technical programs used in operating equipment
