Typical Day

Receiving patients in a friendly and welcoming manner, capture and / or update their information on the system, provide quotes for exams, take co-payment / short or private payments, provide info for the preparation of exams, handle queries, print patient reports.

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Intermediate Word, Excel, Outlook
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a professional high‑pressure environment
  • Knowledge of medical aid and PMB rules will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the POPI Act regulations for healthcare will be beneficial
  • Own reliable transport, non‑negotiable
Main Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge all patients with warmth and friendliness, showing empathy where needed
  • Capture all patient info correctly, checking info as you type (must be able to capture at least 6 patients per hour)
  • Check medical aid benefits
  • Do quotes for all exams and take co-payments / short payments by medical aids
  • Ensure you understand and follow the protocol for emergency patients, ensure terms and conditions are signed.
  • Book patients for CT & MRI scans and provide prep info for CT & MRI exams
  • Obtain Authorization for all examinations.
  • Process payments for all private patients, walk‑in or in‑hospital patients, allocate payments to correct invoices
  • Obtain and scan in all relevant WCA documents for workplace injuries / diseases
  • Scan and attach all relevant documents to the correct patient profile
  • Resolving telephonic enquiries
  • Work hand in hand with the Radiography Team Leader and Head Office staff to ensure an efficient and affective workflow between all departments
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings / small group meetings and make suggestions for improvement
Hours of Work

Shift rotation on a weekly basis:

07h00 – 16h00, 7h30 – 16h30, 08h00 – 17h00, 08h30 – 17h30 & 09h30 – 18h00

Weekend Overtime – every 4th week

Saturday

08h00 – 18h00 (time off given the morning and OT payment for afternoon).

Sunday

08h00 – 18h00 (paid as OT).
