Job summary

A leading human capital provider is seeking a Mechanical Foreman for the Dry Prep Section in Boksburg, South Africa. The ideal candidate must possess a Matric/Grade 12, a mechanical engineering N4 certificate, and be a qualified Fitter or Millwright. Responsibilities include managing maintenance, ensuring machine availability, developing maintenance standards, and training the engineering team. A minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing and supervisory roles is required. Familiarity with OHASA standards and strong leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years manufacturing plant experience.
  • 5 years general plant maintenance and dry preparation area experience.
  • Minimum 5 years proven supervisory management and job planning experience.
  • Previous wood industry experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all mechanical maintenance and ensure machine availability.
  • Ensure compliance to maintenance business processes.
  • Develop and implement maintenance standards.
  • Train and develop the plant engineering team.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance to standards.
  • Responsible for maintenance and incidental shut planning.

  • Training and development of plant engineering team to comply with laid down standards
  • Conducting of audits to ensure compliance to standards
  • Responsible for maintenance and incidental shut planning and execution
  • Manage and motivate sub-ordinates effectively
  • Cost control of maintenance expenditure within the budget parameters for section
