Job summary

A leading materials testing laboratory in Cape Town is seeking a Laboratory Technician / Engineering Technologist to manage daily operations in our materials testing lab. You will conduct critical structural tests, ensure data integrity, and support engineers in validating new materials. Candidates should have a National Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering or Material Science, with 1–3 years of relevant experience. This hands-on role is vital for building safer and more affordable homes.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a construction materials laboratory.
• Familiarity with testing standards (SANS, ASTM, ISO).
• Experience with fiber-reinforced concrete or polymer composites preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct standard and non-standard destructive testing on materials.
• Capture and report test results accurately.
• Enforce Health & Safety protocols in the lab.
