Job summary

A global mining solutions provider is looking for a technician to provide technical support and expertise in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance in Musina, Limpopo. The role involves maintaining and improving equipment reliability, carrying out preventive maintenance, and executing corrective actions. The ideal candidate should have a Grade 12 qualification, an Electrical or Millwright Trade Certificate, and at least 5 years of maintenance experience. Familiarity with underground hardrock trackless mining is advantageous.

Role

Provides technical support and expertise in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance. Maintains and improves components, equipment or systems to improve or keep high reliability, overall equipment values and cost efficiency.

Key Performance Areas

• Mechanical or Electrical maintenance operations.
• Analyze, prepare, plan, and carry out small to medium sized improvements on machines and equipment (major sized improvements if necessary).
• If necessary, order and take lead on actions performed by contractors.
• Preventive maintenance, perform corrective actions, supports planning and preparation, monitors outcome, documentation (outcome, root cause, time, improvements).
• Work in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Achievement of maintenance targets (MTBF, MTTR).
• Follow quality and cleanliness standards.
• Communication of operational status and any deviations.
• Safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements.
• Continuous improvements and development on a personal and operational level.
• Specific or expert competence within a specific area.

Profile Required

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
• Electrical / Millwright Trade Certificate.
• Maintenance experience (5 years)
• Underground Hardrock Trackless Mining experience (advantageous)
• Computer literacy will be advantageous.
• English proficiency
• Code 8 license (Minimum)

Experience in

• Fault finding / electrohydraulic / auto electrical / hydraulic / PLC, remote control offerings will be advantageous.
• Underground mining environment, maintaining of earth moving equipment.
