Job description

A major manufacturer of injection molded automotive components, has an opening for a Machine Setter – Injection Molding.

Reporting to: Production Manager.

Purpose of the Job:

To ensure processes and products conform to company and customer requirements; to ensure the company production objectives and targets (scrap %, etc) are achieved and to motivate the quality improvement for products and processes.

Note:

Only candidates with injection molding experience will be considered.

Minimum requirements:

• Matric.
• Level 4 Plastic Federation Injection Machine Setting Certificate.
• At least 3 years’ experience in injection molding machine setting and optimisation.
• Previous work experience in high volume plastics manufacturing environment.
• Shift supervisory responsibility.
• Problem solving techniques, assist with training of personnel.

Major responsibilities:

• Manage setting of all injection molding machines and any ancillary equipment.
• Maximise the usage of all process equipment, personnel in the goal of supplying the customers with quality products and on time delivery.
• Ensure that production work instructions e.g. Setting Sheets. Inspection Instructions, Packaging and Transport details are adequate and complied with.
• Review all non-conforming products together with the quality department and ensure that effective corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence as and when required.
