Job summary

A leading mining company in Limpopo is seeking a Load Haul Dump (LHD) Operator to operate LHD equipment in a state-of-the-art underground mining environment. Candidates must have a Matric/NQF Level 4, LHD operators training certificate, and at least one year of practical experience. Responsibilities include optimal equipment utilization, ensuring safety, and maintaining equipment. Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged South Africans. Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year’s practical experience in operating LHD equipment in an underground mining environment.
• Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground.
• Knowledge of underground trackless mobile equipment practices and operations.

Responsibilities

• Optimal utilisation of LHD equipment to achieve mining targets.
• Minimisation of machine damage by adopting good operating practices.
• Loading and hauling of material to trucks and underground tip excavations.
• Assist the load & haul miner to perform workplace Safe Declaration.
• Ensure that the machine is refueled and cleaned at the end of every working shift.
• Ensure that paperwork is filled in correctly.

Ivanplats is looking for a Load Haul Dump (LHD) OPERATOR REF: IVP- MNG- 2522

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”.

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills.

• Matric/ NQF Level 4
• LHD operators training certificate/ Licence.
• Two (2) years’ experience working as an LHD operator.
• Competent B certificate
• Responsible for safe loading and transportation of ore within the mine.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience.

• Minimum of 1 year’s practical experience in operating LHD equipment in an underground mining environment.
• Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground.Knowledge of underground trackless mobile equipment practices and operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to.
