Overview

Introduction The above vacancy exists within the Legal Services department and reports to the Senior Legal Advisor. The purpose of this role is to provide legal services and support to the company, as well as play a support role to the Legal Services General Manager. The ideal candidate will be someone who has successfully completed an LLB degree, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as well as minimum 2 years of post-articles experience.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise Copyright Infringement, dispute resolution and general litigation.
  • Contract negotiation, drafting, vetting and management.
  • Collections (Debtors Book and Tenants).
  • Ability to manage stakeholders (attorneys, legal consultants, service providers etc.).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to oversee and manage legal projects.
  • Excellent computer skills (including word processing and spreadsheet packages).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of copyright law is preferable.
  • Experience with employment law matters is preferable.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, of which at least 2 years should have been in a senior or supervisory role.
  • 2 years post articles litigation and commercial experience in a law firm and general contract work.
  • 1 year compliance / risk management experience would be advantageous.
