Responsibilities

We are looking for a candidate to develop and manage the Regional Shoprite strategic account plan, ensuring the delivery of budgeted volume and profit. The role involves working with customers to develop effective Joint Business plans, leading and aligning the Regional Operational team for execution excellence within strategic customers.

  • Achieve business metrics through negotiation and delivery of regional joint business plans
  • Enhance service levels by collaborating with customers and supply chain teams for accurate forecasts
  • Implement tailored promotional strategies aligned with customer expectations and PepsiCo frameworks
  • Deliver 'Must Win Battles' through account plans
  • Execute Price Increase effectively
  • Apply pricing strategies and implement pack/price architecture changes in line with Finance & NRM
  • Trade effectively at the store level
  • Grow share, range, and distribution according to account targets
  • Develop and maintain regional customer relationships
  • Manage trade-offs within customers for PepsiCo's benefit
  • Improve Advantage Group Survey results within the account base
  • Understand regional and store level account plan execution needs, working closely with ASM OT and RSOM
  • Keep promotional calendars updated weekly, focusing on optimized grids during negotiations
  • Ensure timely accruals for cash and retro spends, and proper coding of customer claims
  • Update and verify product ranging weekly with customers, ensuring top stock lines are included
  • Coordinate bi-weekly forecasting with Demand Planning and update promotions accordingly
  • Negotiate NPD listings with Regional Buyers promptly
  • Manage regional cash and retro budgets with monthly reviews and updates
  • Complete negotiations and load regional/national deals on relevant systems
  • Resolve pricing claims according to audit and control timelines
Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates should have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business or Marketing
  • At least 6 years of relevant FMCG experience
  • Strong financial and accounting understanding to manage a P&L
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven commercial acumen
  • Strategic thinking abilities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Functional excellence in relevant areas
