Qualifications

• Formal Tertiary education in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics required.
• A minimum of 1 year's experience in a design capacity is expected.
• Drivers License: Code 8 is required.

• Design and detail of small special purpose applications.
• Create design release packages for manufacturing.
• Detail designs in conjunction with assigned engineers.

Basic Requirements

• Formal Tertiary education: N. Dip or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Degree
• Drivers License: Code 8 - required
• Languages: English (speak, read, and write)
• Afrikaans (speak, read, and write)
• German (Advantageous)

Experience

• Min 1 year’s experience in a design capacity
• Competent in concept development, design calculations, and FMEAs
• Machine calculations & FEA Experience
• Understanding of material specification & processes

Job Objectives

• To work within the design department team to deliver engineering designs and solutions specific to customer requirements and / or specifications.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Design & Detailing of small Special Purpose application.
• Establishing most effective design solution to achieve required specification.
• To specify components for the purpose of procurement.
• Detailing of Designs in conjunction with the assigned Senior Design Engineer / Design Engineer.
• ECR Designs & Detailing for small fixtures and tools.
• Assembly assistance during the assembly phase of the project.
• Create design release package for manufacturing purposes.
• Create final designs within a controlled budget environment.
• To comply with ISO procedures of Jendamark.
• Must be a Team player.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Actively reduce costs. Provide suggestions and opportunities for cost savings.
• Understand and comprehend facility purpose and objectives.
• Calculation of stresses, forces and accuracies.
