A leading IT solutions provider in Johannesburg seeks an IT Application Specialist to ensure the effective management of business-critical applications within Microsoft SharePoint and the Power Platform. This role involves designing and enhancing applications, troubleshooting technical issues, and liaising with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in IT, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of SharePoint and related tools. A CTC of R50,000 per month is offered.
The IT Application Specialist is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining business-critical applications, workflows, and processes within Microsoft SharePoint and the Power Platform. This role ensures that software applications function efficiently, workflows operate without interruption, and end-users receive support for system issues. The IT Application Specialist acts as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT, identifying system improvements, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
Total Cost to Company (CTC): R50,000 per month.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Microsoft certifications in SharePoint or Power Platform are an advantage (not mandatory).
Experience:
3–5 years’ experience managing IT applications, workflows, or business systems in a corporate environment.
Proven experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Power BI.
Experience troubleshooting business-critical workflows and automated notifications.
Project management or exposure to IT project delivery is desirable.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of SharePoint administration and workflow management.
Ability to integrate SharePoint with other software applications.
Data quality checks, exception handling, and reporting skills.
Basic understanding of system security, user roles, and license management.

The IT Application Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and enhancement of business-critical workflows and applications within Microsoft SharePoint and the Power Platform. This includes:
Workflow and System Management
Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot SharePoint workflows, forms, and automated notifications (e.g., job requisitions, birthday emails).
Identify and resolve workflow issues, such as stuck requisitions, missing approvals, or failed notifications.
Update and edit SharePoint forms and workflows to reflect changes in business processes.
Grant system access to new employees to enable onboarding and induction.
Send reminders for pending approvals to ensure timely processing.
Perform data quality checks, exception reporting, and resolve inconsistencies.
Application Development and Integration
Build, design, and enhance applications using Microsoft SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power BI.
Integrate SharePoint workflows with other business applications as required.
Document all developments, changes, and new workflows for audit and reference purposes.
Test and prepare applications and workflows for go-live, ensuring minimal disruption.
Monitor system health, check for bugs, and propose solutions to enhance performance.
Project and Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and recommend process improvements.
Provide coaching and guidance to team members on system usage and workflow processes.
Track project timelines, report progress, and escalate any issues to the IT Manager.
Conduct presentations and training sessions as required.

iRD Stock Availability – tracking and reporting system.
Enhancing BOM Creation Workflow – integrating into Syspro for efficiency.
Capex Approval Process Enhancement – workflow integration into Syspro.
Payment Deviation Process Enhancement – streamlining approval workflow with Syspro.
Stock Code Approval Process Enhancement – workflow improvements integrated with Syspro.
Transport GL Analysis Dashboard – integration to Syspro for transport-related financial reporting.
Automation of the Online Merchandise Store – workflow and notification management.
Other Responsibilities
Ensure correct security roles and licenses are assigned to all users.
Support end-users with system questions and troubleshooting.
Continuously explore opportunities to improve software solutions for the organization.
Perform other reasonable IT-related duties as requested by management.
