Job summary

A retail group in South Africa is seeking a Shipping Controller responsible for managing and coordinating all import and export shipping activities. You will ensure goods move efficiently across borders, while maintaining compliance with customs requirements. Candidates should have a Matric certificate, with preference given to those holding diplomas in logistics or related fields, and 3–5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle and Sage is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in shipping/logistics operations, preferably in retail or FMCG.
• Experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance, and handling bonded goods.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating all import and export shipping activities.
• Ensuring accurate documentation and tariff application.
• Managing relationships with freight service providers.
• Keeping systems up to date.
• Supporting operational continuity through reliable inbound logistics.
