Intermediate SRE Engineer (Remote) required in Somerset West.

A well establish international software development company is looking for a Intermediate SRE Engineer to join their team on full time permanent basis.

This is a remote / hybrid role, with a requirement to be in either the Somerset West, Pretoria, or Johannesburg offices once a week.

Overview

An engineer with a basic understanding of system design and operations.

• Able to handle defined tasks with guidance
• Can provide consultation and assist others using their foundational expertise

Requirements (Traits)

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position
• Understanding of public cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and orchestration concepts
• Understanding of at least one of: Go, Python, Java, Bash
• Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes and experience with production deployment tools such as Helm and ArgoCD
• Experience with configuration management tools like Terraform/Terragrunt
• Understanding of replicated data stores (e.g. MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka)
• Enjoys consulting and helping others with their expertise
• Basic operational and networking skills (TCP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/s)
