Job description

Industrial Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for industrialisation of products; assist in taking products from the Research and Development team and seeing them through to production.

Industrial Design

• Improve design on current products to reduce manufacturing costs.
• Provide production support, e.g.: assembly, test instructions and training.
• Develop production and test equipment including manufacturing documentation packs for China and local Production to verify:
• New Product Tooling.
• New and current products are made according to requirements.
• Liaise with Chinese and local suppliers.
• Test and qualify products against international standards.
• Investigate and fault find current and new designs, assist R&D team with DFM.
• Draw up new product design and qualification specifications.

Research Responsibilities

• Research into new product/manufacturing technologies, components, and solutions.

Product Development and Deployment

• Meet with Management and team to ascertain the following:
• Timescales.
• Product Design/Documentation including 2D/3D CAD.
• Product and Document Configuration, product doc-pack assistance to R&D
• Assist Design Team with:
• Product Deployment / In-house Production / Implementation at third-party Providers.
• Manufacturing, time studies/production improvement, and continuous improvement.

Administration and Reporting

• General correspondence and administration completed accurately and timeously.
• Email, inbox and data managed timeously and effectively.
• Professional image maintained in all communication.
• All reporting and feedback requirements met, and reports completed accurately and timeously, according to company requirements.
• Adhere to departmental processes and standard operating procedures.
• Supply statistics and information as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering or related area of study.
• 2-4 years’ work experience in a similar role.
• Product documentation experience.
• Proficiency in utilizing industrial engineering tools and software, such as CAD/CAM systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate multidisciplinary teams and present ideas and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Navision software applications
