Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Inbound Travel Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate must be confident in handling B2B travel bookings, crafting itineraries, liaising with travel agents, and managing the full reservation process for Southern Africa. This role requires excellent communication, strong organisational skills, in-depth destination knowledge, and strong experience working with WETU.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in inbound travel consulting (Southern Africa preferred).
- Must have hands‑on experience working with WETU (itinerary building & management).
- Strong knowledge of Southern African destinations, products, and DMC operations.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time‑management.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in reservation systems, MS Office, and internal booking tools.
- Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and agents.
- Proactive and solution‑oriented.

Responsibilities
Itinerary Planning & Quotation Management
- Create and manage comprehensive FIT and group itineraries across Southern Africa.
- Analyse agent requirements to provide tailored, high‑quality travel proposals aligned with budget and expectations.
- Prepare detailed B2B quotations and imaginative itineraries with accuracy and creativity.
- Ensure all quotations are delivered on time and followed up promptly to secure confirmations.
- Compile and maintain rooming lists, release dates, and booking conditions.
- Build and manage itineraries using WETU (essential requirement).
Reservations & Booking Administration
- Issue invoices upon confirmation and ensure correct submission of invoices and costing sheets for each file.
- Ensure strict adherence to payment deadlines, cancellation policies, and supplier conditions.
- Renegotiate confirmed bookings with suppliers when needed to obtain more favourable rates.
- Hand over confirmed itineraries to the Operations Team for ground service coordination.
- Ensure agents receive final itineraries, vouchers, and supporting travel documents timeously.
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with agents throughout the entire quotation and booking process.
- Engage and negotiate effectively with suppliers to secure competitive rates and added value.
- Respond promptly to emails, WhatsApp messages, and new booking enquiries.
- Provide daily updates to the Managing Director on all active files.
- Liaise closely with internal sales teams, preferred suppliers, and colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
Research & Product Knowledge
- Conduct destination research including travel costs, weather patterns, customs, reviews, and competitor insights.
- Promote products and unique experiences to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with regional travel trends and product developments.
General Duties
- Be available after hours for emergencies via phone or office support when required.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work additional hours during peak operational periods.
- Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and company standards at all times.
