Job summary

A technology company in Durban is seeking a temporary HR Assistant for a 3-month fixed term. The role offers essential administrative support to the HR department, focusing on recruitment processes, maintaining employee records, and coordinating events. About the Company

Endless Summer Technologies, a subsidiary to Johnson Outdoors requires a temporary HR Assistant based at their Durban site.

About the Role

This role is required to provide administrative support to the HR department.

Responsibilities
  • This is a fixed term role for 3 months only.
  • Assist with high level recruitment, orientate new employees, processes employee changes and maintains records.
  • Assist with coordinating new employment recruiting including the posting of advertisements, initial screening of applicants and performing reference checks.
  • Coordinates employee change documentation and approvals including but not limited to new hire, salary adjustments, termination and personal data changes.
  • Maintains employment records and documents human resources actions by completing forms, reports and logs.
  • Performs auditing for a variety of human resources reports for accuracy, provides recommendations on potential improvements and makes corrections as needed.
  • Coordinates events including organizing employee committees, company events, vendors, catering, reservations and calendaring.
  • Assists with employee safety, welfare, wellness and compliance programs, reporting, logs and forms. COIDA and IOD's with Department of Labour.
  • Provides general administrative support as needed such as preparing correspondence, answering calls and general reporting.
Qualifications
  • Preferred HR certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources providing administrative support.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft office or similar products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated skills in using HRIS.
  • Ability to create and run employee related reports.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with complete confidentiality and tact.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external individuals.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in human resources.
