HEAD OF FINANCE – R 1.3M – SOUTHERN SUBURBS, CPT
Our client is a fast‑growing financial services group operating in a specialised environment. They’re looking for someone who combines technical excellence with steady leadership — someone who can guide a finance team, raise the standard of delivery, and support the business with sharp commercial insight.
You’ll take ownership of the full finance function, develop people, introduce structure, and partner closely with the executive team as they scale. If you enjoy improving what’s already working, tightening what isn’t, and becoming a central figure in a company’s next growth phase, this may be the right fit.
WHY THIS ROLE
- You’ll work directly with a CEO who understands business instinctively. He’s sharp, commercially minded and knows how to turn opportunities into real growth.
- This role places you alongside a COO who pushes hard, expects excellence, and drives the business at pace.
- You’re not a number-cruncher here. You’ll shape processes, set the tone for the finance team, and play a direct part in how the business grows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the full finance function, ensuring high-quality reporting, governance and financial stewardship.
- Provide clear guidance, structure, and accountability within the team.
- Partner with executives to support business planning, modelling, scenario analysis and long-term financial direction.
- Act as a steady commercial voice in decision‑making discussions.
- Mentor and grow a finance team that delivers reliably and on time.
- Instil discipline, consistency and high standards across reporting, reconciliations and controls.
- Introduce best‑practice processes and provide the kind of leadership that gives people direction and confidence.
- Oversee monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and board‑level reporting.
- Ensure accurate reconciliations, strong internal controls, compliance and efficient treasury management.
- Improve systems, reporting frameworks and workflows to support scale.
- Work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure financial alignment and support new initiatives.
- Provide insights that help the business assess risk, profitability, and performance.
- Support product expansion, growth projects and cross‑functional decision‑making.
REQUIREMENTS
- CIMA qualification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in finance, with strong exposure to financial services or related regulated environments.
- A background that includes building teams, implementing structure, and lifting the quality of outputs.
- A calm, grounded leadership style that balances accountability with support.
- Solid experience in financial reporting, planning, controls, compliance, and operational finance.
- A commercial mindset — someone who can see beyond the numbers and help shape the business.
