HCP Engagement Specialist - JHB East (Mpumalanga)
Job Purpose
  • Developing, implementing, and nurturing strategic engagement initiatives aimed at effectively communicating with HCPs
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, enabling the specialist to identify the unique needs and preferences of various healthcare professionals. By leveraging insights gained from market research and direct HCP interaction
  • Promote brand awareness and product knowledge among HCPs, thereby enhancing their understanding of the company’s offerings and the value they can deliver to patient care.
  • Creating and delivering compelling, educational content that aids in informed decision‑making, ultimately empowering healthcare professionals to provide optimal care to their patients.
  • Building and maintaining long‑term relationships with HCPs, fostering trust and credibility.
  • Position the company as a valuable partner in the healthcare ecosystem, ensuring HCPs feel supported and informed while strengthening brand loyalty and driving business growth.
  • Continuously assessing and refining engagement strategies, the Healthcare Professional Engagement Specialist contributes significantly to the company’s mission of improving patient outcomes and advancing healthcare practices.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement plans to drive HCP recommendation to grow and achieve sales targets.
  • Recording of weekly and monthly planners using the CRM system.
  • Measure and achieve call coverage and frequency.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of all SOPs and company policies.
  • Deliver the highest quality of scientific information to the largest number of HCPs regarding Bayer brands, individual or group clinics, hospitals and pharmacy settings to grow the Bayer business.
  • Learn about products and diseases to the highest standard and keep scientific knowledge up to date.
  • Analyzing script data and customer activity data to monitor progress.
  • Research competitors and their respective market performance.
  • Ensure the achievement of sales targets and sales goals in the assigned territory.
  • Complete routine administration tasks on time and accurately.
  • Attend to emails.
  • Submit reports (marketing feedback, sample tracker).
  • Ensure effective communication with Sales team, SFE manager, Pharmacy and SFE lead and the Brand team.
  • Strong sharing of HCP initiatives and methods within the Bayer sales team.
Additional Responsibilities
  • CRM system planning.
  • Concur expenses.
  • Attending emails.
  • Submitting reports (marketing feedback, sample tracker).
  • Ensuring effective communication with Sales team, SFE manager, Pharmacy and SFE lead and the Brand team.
  • Strong sharing of HCP initiatives and methods within the Bayer sales team.
Reporting
  • Quarterly reporting of territory performance and strategy.
  • Complete reports and projects as required by the SFE Manager.
Value Added
  • Understand the internal measures of HCPs to better drive the respective customer performance.
  • Ensure maximum brand exposure through promotion and business activities as per the marketing plan.
  • Ensure continued and improved customer relationships.
  • Participate in congresses, expos, shows or any other activity required by the company.
  • KPI Tests.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Must have Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Sciences or Health Sciences qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical/Medical detailing is essential.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant HCP detailing experience.
  • Experience within a multinational Pharma company preferred.
  • Strong detailing/training skills, negotiation skills, presentation, skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player.
  • Excellent customer relationships.
  • Analytical skills and ability to work within budgets.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office).
  • Code 08 (E1) Driver’s License.
