Are you a detail-driven accounting professional who thrives in a complex, fast-paced group reporting environment?

A leading property group is seeking a Group Accountant to join their finance team in Sandton. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of comprehensive financial and tax reporting while supporting robust internal controls. As this recruitment is conducted on behalf of a client, the appointed individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of all group reporting activities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound judgement and a commitment to excellence. Key responsibilities will include the preparation of standalone and consolidated annual financial statements, management of tax submissions, VAT and withholding tax reporting (local and foreign), monthly management accounts, consolidation entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and oversight of reporting controls. The successful candidate will also liaise with internal and external auditors, review payments, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and policy development.

Key skills and experience required
  • BCom Honours or BCom Accounting degree
  • At least five years' relevant experience in an accounting or reporting role
  • Strong group reporting, consolidation and taxation experience
  • Staff management exposure
  • Advanced Excel skills with solid experience across Microsoft Office
  • Experience with recognised accounting software; Cognos, Business Central and Draftworx advantageous
  • Exceptional attention to detail, reliability and time management
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to lead by example and uphold professional standards
  • Highly motivated, deadline-driven and able to maintain strict confidentiality
