Description/Synopsis

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Group Accountant to join our finance team based in De Waterkant, Cape Town. This role is ideal for an individual with a solid accounting background, preferably CA(SA), SAIPA, or with a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences or related qualification, who has one to two years of post-articles experience or experience in a similar role.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing intercompany loans and external debt, supporting group entities, and assisting with financial operations, audits, and financial reporting. This position requires a high level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. You should be comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Minimum Requirements
  • CA(SA), Bachelor of Accounting Sciences, Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences or SAIPA.
  • Preferably 1 – 2 years post-article experience
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in accounting systems.
  • Prior experience in a similar financial accounting, group accounting or financial management role will be advantageous.
  • Ideally located in the Atlantic seaboard area.
Main Responsibilities
Debt Management
  • Manage and maintain intercompany loan schedules and interest calculations.
  • Prepare and reconcile external debt calculations, interest payments, and debt statements.
Entity Support (Swiss Entity)
  • Capture transactions and process payments for the Swiss entity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for the group entities.
Financial Operations
  • Assist with payment processing and approvals as needed.
  • Support month-end activities, including journal capturing and reconciliations.
Audit & Financial Reporting
  • Assist with annual audits and preparation of audit deliverables.
  • Support the compilation of financial statements and related documentation.
Skills
