Field Sales Engineer Aftersales (Food & Water Division)

Alfa Laval Africa is seeking a sales specialist to support the Food and Water business in Southern Africa. The role focuses on direct sales of Alfa Laval Services and Spares within a defined area, working with support from the line manager or experienced sales personnel.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives

  • Promote and sell Alfa Laval After Sales Services (Spare Parts, Service Contracts, Workshop & Field Service).
  • Engage actively with the market through visits and meetings, focusing on understanding customer needs and demonstrating the value of our products and services.
  • Develop tailored quotes based on customer needs, emphasizing unique selling points, and follow up accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, identifying needs and proposing solutions.
  • Utilize CRM and other tools consistently to support sales activities and decision-making.
  • Use installed base tools to identify opportunities and expand customer coverage.
  • Own sales targets: manage order intake and forecast sales monthly and quarterly, driving growth in assigned territories or industries.
  • Ensure contractual commitments comply with company policies, reviewing and approving quotations and contracts per procedures.

What you can be

  • Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of sales experience in a similar role (5 years for diploma holders).
  • Experience in the Southern African market.
  • Experience selling or servicing the Food Industry, Beverage, Brewery, Vegetable or Seed Oils is preferred.
  • Experience with Starch & Sugar or Dairy industries is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and follow-up skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, problem-solving abilities, and team-oriented.
