Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Review trial balances and journals for month-end adjustments.
  • Prepare and finalize management accounts and Exco reports with performance analysis.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting support to operational branches.
  • Prepare and consolidate annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to drive audit readiness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance.
  • Prepare performance reports, variance analysis, and risk assessments.

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Manager to provide operational and business support within the Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to company policies and procedures, and delivering strategic financial insights to support business operations.

Responsibilities
  1. Month-End Reporting
    • Review trial balances and journals for month-end adjustments.
    • Prepare and review month-end and taxation calculations.
    • Finalize management accounts and Exco reports with performance analysis.
    • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with company SOPs and reporting deadlines.
  2. Payment Review and Approval
    • Review and release third-party payments daily.
    • Assist with cash flow forecasts and ad hoc bank transfers.
  3. Business Support
    • Provide financial analysis and reporting support to operational branches.
    • Assist with credit vetting and ensure consistency in SOP application.
  4. Budget Preparation
    • Prepare and consolidate annual budgets and forecasts.
    • Support business units with budget submissions and presentations.
  5. Audit Assistance
    • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
    • Drive audit readiness and minimize findings.
  6. Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and growth.
    • Establish KPIs to measure and enhance team effectiveness.
    • Foster a collaborative, productive, and motivating work environment.
  7. Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare performance reports, variance analysis, and risk assessments.
    • Present financial insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

Minimum Requirements

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (e.g., CIMA, CA(SA)) advantageous.
  • 5–10 years’ relevant finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., HFM or similar).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
