Overview
A global pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Financial Analyst.
Job Purpose :
- Advising and reporting on financial performance of Business Units.
- Assisting with the compilation of forecasts and budgets.
- Assistance with strategic planning and pricing.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong understanding and detailed analysis of brand profit and loss statements, including the calculation of revenue, COGS, inventory write offs and marketing and selling expenses.
- Accurate and timely analysis and reporting for month end.
- Analysis of monthly results vs budget / forecast.
- Calculate and process accruals and provisions as required.
- Responsible for transfer pricing and intercompany margin calculations and eliminations.
- Calculation and presentation of inventory provisions to management as well as communicating with the commercial teams where there is risk
- Reconciliations
- Adherence to accounting policy including G / L account maintenance and ensuring correct allocations.
- Drive the annual budgeting process; including detailed inputs, analysis, reporting and loading and reconciling into systems.
- Drive the monthly forecasting process; including detailed inputs, analysis, reporting and loading and reconciling into systems.
- Participate in month / quarter and year end closing.
- Assist Operational Finance with Audits.
- Strong business partnering with the Commercial Team.
- Ad hoc projects, analysis and presentations as required
- Ad hoc reporting and assisting with HQ requests.
- Maintenance and support related to the budgeting and reporting software and data models.
- Compliance : Ensure that all compliance elements are effectively implemented and adhered to.
- Forwarding of all received Product Quality Complaints, Adverse Events and Medical Enquiries to the relevant person in Quality Assurance / Pharmacovigilance / Medical Affairs.
- Completion of all assigned training within the specified timelines
Qualifications
- CA (SA) / CIMA Qualification (completed)
- Min 5 Years’ post article experience within a multinational organization (Pharma / FMCG)
- Knowledge of inventory management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
