Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a qualified finance professional to manage financial reporting and compliance in the logistics sector. The ideal candidate will have a BCom degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include accounts management, VAT preparation, and budget monitoring, with a focus on ensuring compliance and supporting business operations. The role requires proximity to Umhlanga, Durban.

Qualifications

  • B Com Degree in finance / accounting is essential.
  • Honours qualification would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience is required at this level.
  • Individuals must live within close proximity of Umhlanga, Durban.
  • Must have financial working experience within the Logistics / Transport / Shipping industry.

Responsibilities

  • Able to prepare and analysis reports, prepare and present management / board pack, company overall compliance.
  • Accounts Receivable (Full Function).
  • Accounts Payable (Full Function).
  • Monthly Management Reports and Analysis.
  • Bookkeeping to Trial Balance.
  • Preparation & Presentation of Management Accounts.
  • Payroll Function - Review Payroll Analysis, Review & Process Journals.
  • Preparations of VAT Recons & Submission of VAT Returns.
  • Fixed Assets Register Management.
  • Bank Account Management (Cashbook Review, Loading & Releasing Transactions).
  • Prepare Audit Files & liaise with Auditors.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management.
  • Monthly Variance Analysis.
  • Budget vs Actuals.
  • Investigate and recommend financial matters affecting the business.
  • General administration Duties (drafting Agreements).
