Overview

This well-established manufacturing company are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance department in Cape Town. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on financial operations, compliance, and reporting. Qualified CA(SA) candidates with a minimum of 1 - 2 years' post-article experience are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Qualified CA(SA)
  • Completed articles essential. 1 – 3 years post article experience in a similar role.
  • Exposure to the manufacturing industry beneficial.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel – Pivots, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems (Syspro preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with precision
  • Attention to detail with a flair for accuracy
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks
  • Experience with both IFRS and IFRS for SMEs is advantageous
Responsibilities
  • Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Conduct monthly and yearly financial close activities and reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Review supplier reconciliations and payments prior to release
  • Process Forex payments via the current bank account
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Assist with audits and other financial assessments as required
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets/databases for recording, monitoring, and compiling information
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns (e.g., VAT201, EMP201)
  • Perform general administrative duties associated with the role
  • Adhere to deadlines set by management
  • Assist with cash flow management
