Overview
An independent renewable energy power producer is seeking an ambitious Business Development Finance Analyst / Junior Transactor to join their high-performing team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about renewable energy and eager to grow into a full project finance, corporate finance, and M&A transactor role.
The successful candidate will be working on live renewable energy transactions across Southern Africa, gaining exposure to both utility-scale and corporate power projects. You will work closely with senior executives on financing, structuring, and closing deals — with strong mentorship and a clear career development path.
Responsibilities
- Own and update financial models, refining scenarios and interpreting term sheets (specialist support available for complex builds).
- Support transaction structuring, debt processes with banks, and engagement with advisors.
- Assist on due diligence and condition precedent calls across legal, financial, technical, and tax aspects.
- Prepare and manage data rooms, investment committee submissions, project teasers, and information memoranda.
- Contribute to active wind, solar, and C&I deals in Southern Africa.
- Support renewable energy tender submissions with a focus on financial sections.
- Conduct market analysis, credit reviews of corporate power purchasers, and demand curve modelling.
- Assist senior executives on commercial negotiations and business strategy.

Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related (CA(SA), CFA (Level 2), or MBA an advantage).
- Strong analytical ability; able to simplify complex financial/technical information.
- Financial modelling experience (comfortable updating/refining models).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong English writing and communication skills.
- Exposure to project finance, corporate finance, or M&A transactions (assisting/shadowing acceptable).
- Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with banks, advisors, and executives.
- Ambitious, detail-oriented, and hungry to learn.
