JBT Marel has an opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our team based in Letsitele (Limpopo), South Africa.

Reporting to our Service Manager based in Nelspruit, as Field Service Technician you will be responsible for service and maintenance of leased equipment at our customers' site in Letsitele.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a QUALIFIED, skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team based in Letsitele, Limpopo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of citrus processing equipment at our customer's site. This role requires a strong technical background and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

You will work closely with your Service Manager and the Sales Department to ensure good communication from the customer site to JBT Head office.

Previous experience as a Service Technician would be valuable and someone with foundational skills and a keenness to learn our equipment is necessary! Finally, you may use your expertise to help install new JBT Marel equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on citrus processing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities and parts inventory.
Requirements
  • Qualified Trade Test: Millwright or Fitter.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years mechanical and basic electrical experience.
  • Product knowledge and working with food machinery previously will be an advantage.
  • Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Calibration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Instrumentation reading ability.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Drivers license.
