Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician in Gauteng. The successful candidate will provide technical support, perform repairs, and commission equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining records, ensuring legal compliance, assisting customers on-site and remotely, and internal technical support. Candidates should be qualified electricians or technicians with at least 3 years of experience in control systems. A valid driver’s license is required. This position involves contract to permanent employment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Electrician or Technician with an N3 Certificate or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Practical experience in Control Systems with exposure to Electronics and/or Pneumatics.
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in Control Systems.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Report to client in writing and record keeping of repairs and returns.
  • Prepare, submit and keep warranty claims.
  • Telephonic and on-site support for customers.
  • Internal sales technical support.
  • Maintain ISO requirements.
  • Commissioning of equipment.
  • Problem evaluation on specific applications where equipment is used.
  • Attend to breakdowns.
  • Ability to travel away from home, after hours, and for cross-border support.
  • Assist with spare stock control and warehousing.
  • Assist with customer quotes when required.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required by Manager.
