The Opportunity
The Executive Assistant will serve as a key support figure to the CEO of Naspers SA, taking on a blend of responsibilities, including executive assistant tasks and project management. This role has a local and international focus. The role will involve strategic relationship building with international stakeholders and helping to drive the CEO’s vision by managing projects and engagements in a highly dynamic, fast‑paced, global environment. This role requires an individual with exceptional organisational, communication and relationship management skills.
What You’ll Do
Executive Support
- Provide proactive, confidential, and professional executive assistance to the CEO.
- Manage complex international calendars, appointments, and meeting schedules across multiple time zones.
- Handle correspondence, emails, and calls efficiently - prioritising issues and ensuring timely follow‑up.
- Maintain meticulous records of projects, meetings and international engagement schedules.
- Liaise with senior executives, Board members, clients and partners on behalf of the CEO with professionalism and tact.
- Act as the main point of contact for internal and external communications on behalf of the CEO, ensuring professionalism and diplomacy at all times.
- Improve workflows and guarantee smooth communication between the CEO’s office and other internal and external stakeholders.
Travel, Events & Logistics
- Plan and manage extensive domestic and international travel arrangements, including flight bookings, visas, accommodation, ground transport and detailed itineraries.
- Ensure smooth logistics and contingency planning for multi‑destination travel, conferences, and events.
- Prepare comprehensive travel packs, including schedules, contacts and meeting briefs.
- Coordinate expense reporting and travel reconciliations promptly and accurately.
Meeting and Event Management
- Organise and support Board meetings, leadership off‑sites and executive events.
- Take minutes, track actions, and ensure timely follow‑up on key deliverables.
- Support event planning and logistics for high‑profile internal and external engagements.
Briefings, Reports & Presentations
- Prepare and coordinate high‑quality, accurate briefing materials, reports and executive‑level presentations for internal and external meetings.
- Synthesise complex information into clear, action‑oriented summaries and talking points aligned to the CEO’s objectives.
- Ensure materials meet quality and confidentiality standards and are delivered on time.
Relationship Management
- Develop relationships with executive assistants and personal assistants of senior leaders, government officials, policymakers and other key partners to ensure smooth coordination and accessible connections.
- Contact base development - Create and maintain a robust international contact database for government relations, public policy stakeholders, and critical business networks.
- Act as an effective representative of the CEO, exuding tact, professionalism and the ability to work across cultural nuances.
- Maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Act as an ambassador for the CEO’s office, ensuring communications and interactions reflect the company’s values and professionalism.
Project and Operations Management
- Act as the Project Manager for initiatives within the CEO officeTrack and manage critical projects and initiatives, ensuring timely execution, reporting, and status updates for the CEO.
- Anticipate and address potential issues or roadblocks in projects, providing solutions and recommendations.
- Facilitate cross‑functional communication between departments, enabling efficient execution of key priorities.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Business Administration or similar.
- Proven experience (minimum 10 years) as an Executive Assistant supporting a C‑suite executive in a corporate international environment.
- Demonstrated project/programme management experience is advantageous. Proven experience working with international stakeholders; experience working with the EU government or related public policy sectors is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex travel and logistics.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully building and managing relationships with external and governmental stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in Google Workspace and collaboration tools (Zoom, Slack, etc.). Confidently work across different cultures and time zones with tact and diplomacy.
- Solid experience handling confidential information and managing senior‑level communications.
