To develop and execute a strategy to grow Nedbank's sales through 3rd-party distribution partners, spanning the spectrum of vehicle dealer networks, mortgage originators, retailers (e.g. Boxer), digital aggregators (e.g. Clearscore) and beyond, which in turn will enable Personal Banking to sustainably improve its Return on Equity, while growing market share in value-adding products, and optimising its cost-to-income ratio.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish the strategy for 3rd party partnerships for Nedbank, in a manner that grows value for the partner, and grows value for Nedbank by defining Strategic Partnership objectives to drive strategic growth and enhance customer value
- Anticipate emerging trends in each of the markets (e.g. vehicle sales market, home loans sales market), and ensure the strategy is robust to those by establishing a trend monitoring framework to enhance strategic resilience and support pro-active decision making
- Maintain and grow existing partnerships by collaborating with Nedbank partners and Nedbank teams to optimise pricing, product and process to maximise client experience and returns from the partnership
- Maintain relationships with the key stakeholders at Nedbank's primary distribution partners by identifying key stakeholders and collaborating on strategic initiatives to strengthen the strategic alignment and improve commercial outcomes
- Maintain and enhance sales measurement systems and metrics for the 3rd party channels by auditing existing measurement systems and defining channel-specific KPIs to improve sales performance visibility and enhance decision making
- Monitor and manage performance of sales channels versus targets by tracking KPIs, comparing actual performance and engaging with channel leads to ensure each sales channel is contributing effectively to overall revenue goals
- Develop, implement and grow new partnerships in value-creating areas which align to where Nedbank would like to grow market share, in respect of client segments, and particular products by identifying high-potential partnership opportunities to accelerate market share growth. This will include steps such as:
- derive market insights to define and size the client need and opportunity
- design a solution that creates a superior client experience and value for the partner and for Nedbank
- define and agree commercial arrangements that create value for both partners
- build the solution, launch it and scale it
- Effectively and efficiently manage team across the HR value chain.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Master’s Degree
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualification
Post grad qualification (Engineering, Data, Analytics, Business, Economics or related fields)
Minimum Experience Level
11 years +
Material experience in banking and associated consumer-facing industries, 5 years experience in sales functions ideally in banking, track record of delivering substantial requirements in performance, ideally in a sales function.
