Job summary

A coal mining company is seeking an Environmental Officer to perform environmental assessments and maintain compliance with legal and company standards. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, logging non-conformances, and assisting in the preparation of reports. Candidates should have a Master’s in Environmental Science or equivalent degree, and some experience in environmental management is preferred. Qualifications

• MSc – no experience or Honours / BSc / BTech in Natural / Environmental Science, 18 months to 3 years internship or similar relevant experience.
• Should possess or be able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental monitoring, inspections and audits on air, water, land, biodiversity.
• Log non-conformances with the environmental management program.
• Assist with preparation of environmental reports.

Skills

Computer literacy in MS Office

Valid driver's license

Knowledge of environmental management systems

Understanding of local environmental legislation

Education

MSc in Natural / Environmental Science

Honours / BSc / BTech in relevant field
