A global engineering consulting firm is hiring a Project Manager for their Energy Business in Johannesburg or Cape Town. The role involves developing execution plans, managing stakeholders, and delivering high-quality projects in renewable energy. Ideal candidates should hold a degree in engineering and relevant project management certifications, with experience in energy sector projects. Arup is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team within the Energy Business. As the business continues to grow, we are securing an increasing number of complex projects that require disciplined project management and effective stakeholder alignment. This role will enable our specialist technical teams to focus on their areas of expertise, while dedicated project management professionals take responsibility for delivering exceptional outcomes.
We aim to enhance our project management and project controls capability, offering clients comprehensive support alongside our technical owner’s engineering services. We are looking for project managers with broad, end-to-end project experience—including stakeholder engagement, human and integration management, scope, risk, cost, scheduling, procurement, communication, design, construction oversight, health & safety, quality, and environmental management.
This position can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.
Develop detailed project execution plans to ensure successful project delivery. Collaborate closely with the Client and internal teams.
Coordinate and integrate technical activities to ensure alignment with organisational objectives. Ensure project deliverables meet design standards, regulatory requirements, environmental obligations, and permitting conditions.
Identify project risks and develop robust mitigation strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government entities, communities, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
Ensure delivery of high-quality services and implement effective quality-control measures. Monitor, track, and report project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
