Role Overview:

We are seeking for an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager. This individual will implement DPR’s and Client’s environmental health and safety plan (EHSP) and related programs at assigned construction project(s).The EHS Manager will work with our project management team and General Contractor to identify and address potential hazards before they exist and ensure compliance with our EHSP utilizing behavior-based safety techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and live DPR’s injury-free environment culture.
  • Identify EHS training needs and provide EHS training as appropriate.
  • Shepherd and develop career path for EHS coordinator(s).
  • Coach DPR & GC management on EHS leadership and management practices.
  • Provide trending analysis for project data on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis.
  • Participate during project design phase to identify any EHS risks and propose alternate solutions
  • Participate during construction planning with GC to identify and mitigate potential EHS risks
  • Foster the development of EHS programs and protocols.
  • Develop and blend site-specific EHS plan(s) that incorporates both DPR’s and our client’s safe work practices.
  • Assist with the continual development of new methods for abating hazards.
  • Perform regular Jobsite EHS audits of worksite activities. Share findings, corrective actions, and corrective plans with DPR project management.
  • When necessary, utilize every resource necessary, including escalation, to ensure an injury-free environment.
  • Help monitor the General Contractor (GC) and subcontractors selection process and adherence to established EHS guidelines.
  • Measure team engagement regarding EHS management practices.
  • Maintain project and regional EHS files such as EHS training documentation participating in updates to our EHSP, applicable medical certifications, environmental testing, and special associated training, investigation reports including RCA’s, near misses, close calls, injury summaries, leading indicator data and other EHS documentation.
  • Collaborate on contractor’s project onboarding (pre-construction meetings, review site-specific EHS plan, and job hazard analysis(JHA), review training requirements, orientation).
  • Collect and review pre-task plans and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Conduct daily documented EHS inspections/audits.
  • Participate and monitor EHS orientations for all on-site employees.
  • Participate in weekly EHS meetings.
  • Conduct incident investigations as needed.
  • Interact with client EHS representative.
  • Maintain EHS documentation and posting.
  • Maintain project site EHS program
Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Extensive understanding of Korea construction EHS regulations and practices (mandatory)
  • Good understanding of global construction EHS regulations and practices i.e. OSHA (USA) and ISO
  • Experience with high-rise construction, tower crane safety and hazardous energy (electrical, hydraulic, chemical, pneumatic etc.)
  • Ability to work closely with GC’s team (EHS and site managers)
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience on construction sites.
  • Construction EHS related certifications preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Degree in safety management or certification preferred.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do,” “let’s find a solution” attitude.
  • Competent person training, including training in fall protection, scaffolding, excavation & trenching.
  • CPR/first aid trained
  • Full professional proficiency in Korean and English (verbal and written).
