Part‑time lecturer for the School of Management, in the following module:

  • Economics 1A
Key Performance Areas
Lecturing
  • Lecture on programmes (preferably lecturing in the IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
  • Mark assessments and give students timely feedback.
  • Internally moderate assessment scripts that fall within your subject fields across the IIE sites of delivery.
  • Provide lecturer development and support according to processes and procedures, which may include conducting peer reviews, facilitating workshops, and providing one‑to‑one consultations.
Student Development & Support
  • Champion/lead and manage the academic development and support for a specific programme and its students.
  • Track student success and implement support interventions where required.
  • Promote a culture of scholarship within your practice and discipline team, and contribute towards the campus (Emeris Durban North) in achieving its annual research output targets.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Ideal: Honours in Economics.
  • Alternative: Honours degree in one of the business‑related fields with Economics to the third‑year level.
  • Bachelor’s degree with Economics or a similar related field to the third‑year level, PLUS either an MBA or a postgraduate diploma in business or education.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Lecturing experience in Economics, critical due to the nature and complexity of this module.
  • Work or lecturing experience as an econometrician or consultant in this field.
  • Work experience as an economist.
Working Conditions
  • This is a part‑time position.
  • Lectures take place between 08:00 and 17:00 on weekdays.
  • Classes are conducted face‑to‑face on campus.
