Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in web, UI, or digital design.
  • Mastery of Figma for UI design and prototyping.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Experience designing for and working within WordPress.
  • Familiarity with WordPress page builders (Elementor, Oxygen, Gutenberg).
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, UX best practices, and digital branding.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Experience in SEO/CRO-informed design or A/B testing.
  • Animation/motion graphics experience.
  • Experience designing for paid ads, emails, or lead gen campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Design responsive, accessible web pages and landing pages for WordPress.
  • Collaborate with SEO/CRO team on site structure, templates, and wireframes.
  • Translate wireframes and strategy into high-fidelity mockups in Figma.
  • Create reusable design systems and maintain visual consistency across the site.
  • Oversee handoff and collaborate with developers or implement designs using WordPress builders.
  • Design branded digital assets like banners and infographics.
  • Help maintain and evolve a brand style guide.
  • Support the social and content team with visuals for campaigns.
  • Create compelling design concepts for new initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with technical SEO, CRO, and content teams.
  • Contribute to ongoing website testing and updates.
  • Ensure designs align with usability best practices and accessibility standards.
Job description

Working Setup: 40 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays, 10:00 to 19:00. Hybrid, with Mondays and Fridays being mandatory office days.

Effer Ventures is an operationally-heavy investment business. The group is currently focused on rolling up staffing and recruitment businesses in the UK as well as a leading Employer of Record and recruitment business in South Africa. The model is to drive digitalisation and operational efficiency across the business, leading to an economies-of-scale-driven growth for each of the operating companies. We are looking to grow and scale both organically within these operating companies and through further acquisitions.

The Role

We’re looking for a creatively driven and technically savvy Digital Designer to elevate the visual experience across our digital presence. You’ll lead the design of engaging, conversion-friendly web pages, establish and evolve our visual identity and ensure our brand is represented consistently across every touchpoint from WordPress websites to social media.

You’ll work closely with our SEO and CRO specialists to build data-informed, visually compelling pages that perform well and look fantastic. You’ll also collaborate with our social and content team to create assets that bring campaigns to life. This is a highly collaborative role where creativity meets strategy, perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of design, performance and brand.

Responsibilities
  • Design responsive, accessible web pages and landing pages for WordPress
  • Collaborate with SEO/CRO team on site structure, templates, and wireframes
  • Translate wireframes and strategy into high-fidelity mockups in Figma
  • Create reusable design systems and maintain visual consistency across the site
  • Oversee handoff and collaborate with developers or implement designs using visual WordPress builders (e.g., Elementor, Oxygen, Gutenberg, etc.)
Graphic & Brand Design
  • Design branded digital assets: banners, icons, illustrations, headers, infographics, etc.
  • Help maintain and evolve a brand style guide (typography, colours, grid systems, visual tone)
  • Support the social and content team with polished visuals and templates for campaigns
  • Create compelling design concepts for new initiatives, features, or campaigns
  • Work cross-functionally with technical SEO, CRO, and content teams
  • Apply basic CRO principles (e.g., hierarchy, CTA placement, visual clarity)
  • Contribute to ongoing website testing, updates, and layout iterations
  • Ensure that all designs align with usability best practices and accessibility standards
Qualifications and Experience

2+ years of experience in web, UI, or digital design

  • Mastery of Figma for UI design and prototyping
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience designing for and working within WordPress
  • Familiarity with WordPress page builders (Elementor, Oxygen, Gutenberg, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, UX best practices, and digital branding

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS (or ability to troubleshoot styling issues)
  • Experience in SEO/CRO-informed design or A/B testing
  • Animation/motion graphics (Lottie, GIFs, video editing tools)
  • Experience designing for paid ads, emails, or lead gen campaigns
Compensation and Incentives

Monthly base salary: R22,000.00 - R25,000.00 based on experience.
