Overview

Mediclinic Southern Africa is a healthcare provider operating in South Africa and Namibia focused on providing acute care, specialist-oriented, multidisciplinary hospital services and related service offerings. We place science at the heart of our care process by striving to provide evidence-based care of the highest standard. The group currently operates 50 private hospitals (excluding a growing number of day clinics) throughout South Africa and three hospitals in Namibia with more than 8 200 beds in total.

Main purpose of the job

To coordinate and control all activities relating to data migration and reporting between current and new operating systems. This includes data at the facility level as well as the data managed and maintained at corporate level.

Key responsibility areas
Data Governance and Compliance
  • Ensure data migration aligns with policies & regulatory standards, enforcing data stewardship for accuracy and accountability
Data Mapping and Transformation
  • Validate, cleanse, and standardize data
  • Define mapping between legacy and new systems
  • Transform data to fit new structures
Testing and Validation
  • Conduct pre- and post-migration QA checks, ensuring data integrity
  • Support User acceptance Testing for accuracy
Data Quality & Integrity
  • Perform data validation, cleansing, quality assurance and standardize to maintain consistency and reliability
Stakeholder Collaboration and Coordination
  • Liaise with Project Team and Business Units to ensure a smooth transition and address concerns.
Continuous Improvement and Post-Go Live Support
  • Assist in data optimization and ongoing enhancements for improved management
Qualifications
Essential Education
  • Certification in data management or a related field or candidates with 3-5 years of hands-on data migration experience (preferably in a SAP environment) may qualify without a formal qualification if they can demonstrate strong practical expertise
Desired Education
  • Data Management/Stewardship qualification
