Job description
Description

We're looking for a creative mind that thinks like a designer and dreams like an inventor.

At Andy Cartwright we design, develop, and brand beautiful, functional products for the homeware, lifestyle, and gifting markets — objects that people use every day, but remember for their design intelligence and timeless appeal.

We work across both our own brands and private-label projects for clients worldwide, developing products in materials such as ceramic, glass, metal, wood, PU leather, and silicone.

Our focus is simple : take ordinary everyday products and make them extraordinary through smart design, aesthetic refinement, and strong packaging presentation.

About the Role

You'll join our small creative team as a Creative Product Development Designer, working on real-world projects from concept to production.

This is hands‑on, tangible product innovation for the physical world.

Daily flow will include
  • Researching global trends and competitor ranges.
  • Spotting gaps and opportunities in the homeware, kitchenware, and gifting sectors.
  • Creating mood boards, concept sketches, and 3D models that bring new product ideas to life.
  • Refining designs into clear presentation decks and technical drawings for supplier development.
  • Designing packaging artwork, swing tags, and visual mock-ups for catalogue and marketing use.
  • Working closely with our Far‑East suppliers to turn your concepts into manufacturable products.
  • Collaborating with our marketing team to help shape product photography and launch materials.

You'll be part of a creative cycle that starts with a brainstorm and ends with a finished product — something you can literally hold in your hands.

Who We're Looking For
  • Post‑graduate in Industrial Design (or related field) with strong Graphic Design ability.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (3D rendering software a plus).
  • Confident creating mood boards, 3D visuals, and packaging layouts.
  • Excellent presentation and research skills — you love exploring design trends.
  • Detail‑oriented, neat, articulate, and organised.
  • Can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Curious, open‑minded, and always learning — someone who "steals with the eye" and adapts ideas intelligently.
  • Someone who can start immediately and possibly work during "holidays".

This is a rare opportunity for a designer who wants creative freedom and real influence in shaping products that will go to market and be showcased at an international trade show in six months.
