Job Description

Reporting to the Site Manager, the General Foreman will handle the following:

• Day-to-day management of site activities
• Ensure that construction works are executed safely, to specification, on programme, and within quality standards
• Coordinate with subcontractors, staff, suppliers and site management
• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities and labour
• Manage subcontractors to ensure productivity, quality, and programme compliance
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and approved methods
• Monitor daily progress and report to the Site Manager
• Enforce health and safety standards in line with OHS Act and company policies
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and site briefings
• Ensure effective housekeeping and site discipline
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively to avoid delays
• Assist with short-term planning and sequencing of works
• Ensure materials are used efficiently and wastage is minimised
• Support inspections and snagging processes

Qualifications

• Trade qual or relevant construction certification
• First Aid and Safety rep certificates (advantageous)

Skills

• Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a similar foreman role
• Strong practical construction knowledge (civil, structural, finishes)
• Have a good understanding of plumbing and electrical installations
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and direct labour
